Legolas was one of the nine that set out from Rivendell on a quest to destroy the one ring of power. during this time, he formed a strong friendship with the dwarf Gimili, stronger than any before known between an elf and a dwarf.
He fought in many of the great battles of the third age, such as the War of the Ring, Hornburg and of the Pelenor feilds.
